 Grade 6 - £36,567-£39,951 pa-  A Care Assessor vacancy has arisen in the Adult Community Team North - 

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of an effective Adult Social Care service as part of a social care team (covering the North of the Borough), improving outcomes for People and Carers.

The London Borough of Havering has important responsibilities for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults. If you are appointed to a job that involves working with these groups, you may be subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.

The purpose of this role is to contribute to the delivery of an effective Adult social care service as part of a social care team, improving outcomes for People and Carers. To carry out high quality holistic assessments, using strengths based, person-centred, community focused, and multi-agency interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships and to secure the best outcomes for people and carers. You must undertake the legal and statutory duties of the post as required by the Care Act. Have a good awareness and understanding of Mental Capacity Act, liberty protection safeguards, Mental Health Act and any other relevant legislation and be able to provide a person-centred service which focuses on asset based interventions to enable people to optimise and maximise their abilities, by using a strengths based approach.

Duties Include:

  • Contribute to the delivery of an effective Adult social care service as part of a social work team, improving outcomes for Adults and Carers.
  • Manage caseloads requiring reviews, assessment of needs and/ risk assessments and support planning.  
  • Carry out quality assessments, using person-centred, community focused, and multi-agency interventions to bring about positive change through developing effective relationships and to secure the best outcomes for service users and carers.
  • An understanding to ensure that vulnerable adults are adequately protected in line with London Borough of Havering's Safeguarding Adults policy and procedures and relevant legislation.
