Enfield Council Children’s service are seeking a highly motivated, confident, imaginative, and dynamic Team Manager with a passion for leading an enthusiastic team and driving practice development in the important and challenging area of safeguarding children, to help us make a difference to vulnerable children’s lives.

To achieve this we need the best, most talented, innovative, and committed people to come and work with us.

Enfield is situated in North London and is a culturally diverse borough. Its wards include both the 20% most affluent and deprived areas in the country, with a mix of industrial areas, residential and countryside.

You will be based in the bubbling heart of Enfield Town in a modern newly designed client facing service hub. The new office has bespoke areas for service users and is an environment which supports our smart working policy, surrounded by small businesses, bars, restaurants, a buzzing high street and shopping centre. We have good transport links into Central London and are easily accessible to the M25, A10 and A406.

This position presents a unique opportunity to join an ambitious service in a key role that supports the Council to deliver high quality services for children, young people, and their families.

We recognise that the people who work for us are our greatest asset, and we are committed to supporting staff in their work to fulfil their potential, including comprehensive training opportunities and personal/professional development.   We are also committed to creating a more diverse and inclusive organisation and ensure that we harness the talents of all staff.

As a Team Manager within Enfield’s Child Protection and Child in Need Service, your primary role will be to lead and support the team to develop meaningful and purposeful social work practice that places emphasis on the voice of the child and aspires to achieve the best outcomes for our children. Using Motivational Interviewing and introducing a Strengths Based Family Programme to support and inform our chosen practice model of Signs of Safety, this is an exciting time to join and contribute to driving excellent practice.

You will work alongside other services such as health and education to ensure that the needs of our children are met, and their voice heard.

Our Team Managers are supported in this challenging role with regular reflective supervision and are part of an active leadership team who provide peer support and constantly work towards improving practice.

You should hold a qualification in social work, have a clear work history and be registered with the Social Work England.

In addition to a competitive salary, our commitment to you is:
•             One month paid sabbatical.
•             Flexible and agile work practices
•             Generous leave entitlement with the option to buy up to an additional 10 days of annual leave.

If you’re looking for interesting opportunities to further your career or want to contribute to integrated multidisciplinary working for the wellbeing of children, and if you are a motivated and enthusiastic practitioner and leader then we would love to hear from you; we could be your next step!
