About the role:

Your role will be to provide a comprehensive vacancy sourcing service to clients with common physical and mental health conditions engaged on multiple employment contracts with Waltham Forest Council Jobs Brokerage.

The Specialist Account Officer (SAO) will engage with employers across London to identify vacancy and recruitment opportunities that are aligned to client needs. The SAO will act as a key link between the employer and a team of Caseload Officers working on Individual Placement and Support in Primary Care (IPSPC) and Supported Employment (SET) employment contracts.

The SAO will ensure vacancies are fed through to Advisor based teams and matched to customer job goals. Developing an effective and proactive approach to vacancy sourcing and supporting employers in raising mental health awareness across their work force, the SAO will act as an 'ambassador', ensuring positive and productive relationships are established to maximise vacancy opportunities for clients engaged with the IPSPC service provision.

The IPSPC Programme delivers a range of specialist employability support across Waltham Forest for people with common mental health conditions using the individual placement and support principles. Clients are referred to us via NHS IAPT Talking Therapies & Job Centre Plus. These two distinct IPSPC client groups include people who are on unemployment benefit or are economically inactive.

Clients are supported into sustained employment by delivering a range of support including employability coaching, vacancy matching, mentoring and in work support. The SAO will be working closely with local employers across London to identify their recruitment needs and match these vacancies to our client's needs through an individual job carving & Job crafting approach.

As an SAO you will be required to build a portfolio of SME and large organisations and maintain a positive working relationship to encourage repeat business and multiple job placements. SAO will be required to track sustainability in-work and targeted to retain 65% of candidates in employment.

Waltham Forest council are seeking an experience Employer Engagement Professional with recent exposure to candidates facing mental and physical barriers to employment. You will need to demonstrate and articulate a track record of high performance in this area, with a positive commitment to meeting job placement and sustainability targets set month on month.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage with employers using clear and effective Business Development practices and tactics designed to secure employer commitment to taking on clients with mental and Physical barriers into work.
  • Develop a strong portfolio of employers that will continue to work with us and support IPSPS and Employment support contracts. secure account managed interview opportunities for clients.
  • Work with employers to modify recruitment processes based on client needs. Propose and agree range of assessment methods to bring out best outcome for client and employer.
  • Conduct tailored preparation sessions to support client group into sustainable employment.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • At least one year's experience of engaging with employers to promote and place clients with mental and physical disabilities into work.
  • At least one year's experience of working within a targeted environment in a similar role and setting.
  • Ability to demonstrate track record of success placing clients with "mental and physical" disabilities into work.
  • Strong communication and presentations skills
  • Adaptability and ability to think about side of the box.
