Heritage Centre Communications Development Officer 
£35,577 - £36,567 per annum
Fixed Term - December 2025

The Communications and Development Officer will be responsible for leading on strategic partnerships, marketing and communications, and project development.  The role will work closely with the Project Manager and engage with Regeneration colleagues who are managing the capital element of the project.

The post holder will be line managed by the Heritage Centre Project Manager, and will be part of a newly created project team.

The post holder will be creative, innovative and enthusiastic with communications skills.  They will bring with them the ability to work comfortably with a variety of people, including residents, Councillors, community groups, cultural stakeholders and consultants.

Newham is a vibrant, diverse borough, with a strong sense of community spirit.  It is home to the UK's newest cultural quarter, East Bank, at the heart of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. East Bank is a unique collaboration between cultural institutions, world leading universities and the people of the Olympic boroughs. Comprising BBC Music Studios, London College of Fashion, Sadler’s Wells East, University College London and V&A East.

Newham is also home to the Royal Docks, one of the most significant regeneration projects in the UK with culture and community and its heart. 

Newham is one of the youngest and most diverse boroughs in England.  Home to the largest urban regeneration site in Europe, Newham boasts a vibrant and thriving culture and community.

This role is fixed term initially until December 2025, with the aim to extend until September 2026 (dependent on NLHF Delivery Phase grant funding being successful – the decision of which will be received in December 2025).

The closing date is 11.59pm on Sunday 28 July, with interviews scheduled for the weeks beginning 5 and 12 August 2024.
