This is an exciting opportunity to join to Passenger Transport team in the brand new role of Business Development Officer. Based within the Council’s in house Passenger Transport operation a proactive and motivated person is required to help develop our non statutory transport offerings whilst ensuring the requirements of our Section 19 which our vehicles operate under are met. There is already a core base of clients the Council is already serving however there are opportunities for the right candidate to grow and develop this further.
Some of the duties and responsibilities of the Business Development Officer are:
- To provide quotations for both regular and adhoc work and ensure all completed work has been paid for and or invoiced.
- To answer all customer enquiries and or complaints in relation to non statutory work.
- To meet with customers and represent the Council either informal, at formal contract meetings, or external events.
- To build a pipeline of opportunities and to forecast future incomes/revenue to the council.
- Ensure any opportunities are operated in line with all relevant rules and regulations.

In addition to excel at the role you will:
- Be able to work on your own initiative, proactive and be able to work to deadlines.
- Have good literacy and be proficient with the Microsoft Office suite.
- Be able to work collaboratively and creatively with a with a diverse range of colleagues and customers.
- Hold excellent communication skills both written and oral, as frequently you will be the face of the Passenger Transport service to the customer.
