The Role

Join the City of London Corporation as a Corporate Project Manager and become a key player in our dynamic Portfolio Management Office. You will lead critical projects that shape the future of the square mile, driving success through disrupting the status quo and acting as a dynamic change agent. As Corporate Project Manager you will spearhead transformative initiatives, ensuring objectives are met within time, cost and quality constraints. You will play a pivotal role in project governance, collaborating with stakeholders to delver impactful outcomes and realise benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Leading a portfolio of corporate projects within business change activity and capital delivery you will ensure alignment with strategic organisational goals.
  • As a change agent you will leverage initiative challenge the status quo and drive transformative innovation within the Corporation.
  • In your role as a disruptor, you will spearhead innovative solutions, inspire new ways of thinking and make recommendations to Senior Responsible Owners and the Portfolio Board. This may include mitigating actions for red rated projects including potential for closure.
  • Drafting compelling business cases for new projects, securing necessary buy-in and resources to deliver against strategic objectives.
  • Proactively identify and address project risks, governance and led the production of timely credible reports.

About you 

You will hold a professional qualification within project/programme management and bring experience to our team of change agents. You will have worked in a large, complex organisation within local government of the wider public sector and be capable of working with Elected Members and senior stakeholders. You will excel in delivering capital projects and transformative initiatives and hold a proven track record of engaging stakeholders through a process. Holding the ability to establish and nurture productive relationships with senior stakeholders, leverage your experience to provide insightful advice and turn around failing projects is key.

With proven expertise un managing large project budgets and navigating varied priorities, you will handle a portfolio of projects and convey complex information clearly through seamless project execution. As a coach and mentor, you will upskill stakeholders and align project objectives with the Corporation’s goals, anticipate future challenges and use data driven decision making and proactive risk management to safeguard project outcomes.
