Planning and Research Data Officer
Grade 5-£32,925-£36,045pa
The Commissioning School Places team is responsible for ensuring there are sufficient school and education places in Havering and that these are appropriate for the ages of the children and young people that need them.
The focus of this role is to support children and young people. This role will contribute to the Local Authority statutory function of pupil place planning, through the gathering, and analysis of specialist data. The role will provide specialist statistical advice to the Commissioning School Places team for the purposes of planning and delivering early years, primary, secondary, SEND, Alternative Provision and Post 16 places.
You will be expected to help on all aspects of pupil place planning and demonstrate strong analytical skills. Equally important however will be the ability to engage and effectively communicate with a variety of stakeholders within the education and schools sector.
This is an important role which will also require the post holder to produce data and information that will be shared with school leaders and governor, senior officers and elected members of the council.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data-You will be responsible for the analysis of complex data and financial information to support the school organisation and pupil place planning function of the team
- Research- You will provide internal research, information and statistical support for the School Organisation team.
- Consultation- You will manage and implement all market research and consultation activity within School Organisation team.
- Communication- You will develop positive working relationships with other Havering teams and will be comfortable representing the Council at meetings with other councils and national bodies.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Strong data analysis skills, strong knowledge of excel, comfortable analysing large datasets and drawing conclusions from this analysis to inform recommendations
- Prior school organisation/education knowledge or experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders.
- IT skills- as well as strong excel skills, knowledge and competency in using other MS Office programmes.
- Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
