We are now looking for a Director of Engineering who will be responsible for evolving and leading our team in the design, build, and maintenance of all our applications and technology platforms.
How you'll do it
Main responsibilities include:
  • Shaping and growing a high-calibre and knowledgeable internal team focused on product management, design leadership and successful change delivery.
  • Building strong relationships with senior business stakeholders.
  • Owning and maintaining our applications and platform strategy and roadmap which reflects both maintenance needs and support for our business ambitions.
  • Building, managing, and growing effective partnerships with software and technology suppliers.
  • Driving the delivery of consistently high-quality deliverables from both internal development resources and our partners.
  • Being commercially aware, owning and managing the team budget and seeking value for money in everything we do.
This position is a 12 month fixed term contract.
The Ideal Candidate

Pending confirmation of legislative changes, this role may require a qualification to demonstrate competence. If not already qualified, there may be an expectation to study towards a professional qualification.
  • Educated to minimum degree level or equivalent experience in Computer Science or similarly appropriate degree.
  • Proven experience (in a similar Director of level role), building a Product Engineering capability in a mixed (custom and package-based) software environment.
  • Strong, hands-on software engineering experience, including good knowledge of enterprise architecture; Microsoft Ecosystem (e.g.: M365, Dynamics 365 CE, Sales, and F&O; Azure Cloud); technologies and design patterns supporting the delivery of end user experiences.
  • Understanding and management of infrastructure and hardware (WLAN, Office Network); Cyber Security
  • Strong interest in emerging technologies (eg. AI/ML) and their application in the workplace
  • Ability to formulate a vision and inspire its delivery
  • Excellent relationship building and supplier management skills
