About the role:

To provide an efficient, range of site support services including general repairs, supervise the cleaners, general maintenance and cleaning of the learning centre.

To be responsible for ensuring the security of the premises.

Help maintain the internal and external fabric of the site premises as a safe working environment.

Support LBWF staff and partners with caretaking issues.

To supervise cleaners and the cleaning services provided within the centre, ensure the security of the site.

Maintain the internal and external fabric of buildings as a safe working environment, as well as providing site service support for room bookings and lettings.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver a specialist aspect of service delivery, which engages customers / stakeholders and enables them to make effective use of the service.

Provide advice and guidance to colleagues, customers and stakeholders. Manage escalated or complex customer issues within the specialist area.

Work closely with others to clarify changing customer / organisational requirements. Works closely with Children's Centre manager.

Develop good working relationships, develop community links and communicate effectively with internal / external organisations / partners and stakeholders. Represent specialist area internally and / or externally. Develop good working relationships with Contractors, Surveyors & Colleagues.

Ensure the necessary standards relating to safeguarding best practices/protocols are effectively communicated, monitored and maintained as relevant within the scope of this post.

Support the management of all sites. Undertake cleaning duties including graffiti removal, litter-picking. Assist and participate in the organisation and movement of furniture within the building.
Maintain and arrange orderly and secure storage of supplies. Escalate any staffing or cleansing/safety concerns to line manager promptly.

Act in accordance with all policies and procedures which apply to the job and understand the reasons for this. Be aware of and comply with all policies and procedures including those relating to child protection, health, safety and security, confidentiality, equal opportunities and data protection, reporting all concerns to an appropriate person.

Qualifications and Requirements:

GCSE Equivalent (English and Math's)

• Excellent written and communication skills and the ability to convey technical Relevant experience of the service area/profession, with evidence of specialist knowledge and work responsibilities appropriate to the role
• Appropriate experience of basic maintenance.
• Experience of site responsibilities, e.g. security, maintenance, evacuation and health & Safety procedures.
• Experience of working under health & safety regulations/legislation
• Experience porter activities, handling cleaning materials.
• Ability to work above ground level ie use steps and ladders.
• Ability to act on own initiative, dealing with any unexpected problems that arise
• Ability to identify work priorities and manage own workload, whilst ensuring that lower priority work is kept up to date.
• Experience of customer care.
• Experience of partnership working
• concepts in simple terms.
• Good interpersonal and organizational skills.
• Excellent IT Skills
• Literate and numerate with accurate record keeping and report writing.
• Ability to work shifts including weekend and evenings.
• Proven initiative and judgement to identify and resolve problems
• Physically fit
