We now have an opportunity for an Income Services Manager (Rents) to join the Neighbourhood leadership team to lead and play a strategic role in delivering a high performing income collection service for the Council.
This is a key position in which you will ensure we build on our great accomplishments over the past few years. We have collaborated with others to improve performance and the use of systems to provide an innovative, efficient and responsive service. The results achieved in rent collection performance so far have confirmed this.
You will be responsible for developing, implementing and managing a robust Income Strategy for the council in the backdrop of a rise in the cost of living. You will provide operational management and co-ordination of the Income Team, dealing with the impact of Universal Credit and other welfare reforms, complex cases and strategic development of the service and staff.
The service comprises 5 direct reports having overall responsibility for Income Arrears (including former Tenant arrears), Financial Inclusion and Tenancy Support as well as Resource Planning and Business support functions.
About You:
- We are looking for a creative and proactive leader with effective change management experience and excellent people management skills.
- You will have solid experience of managing a rental income collection service within the public housing sector and have the ability to manage and direct complex arrears recovery casework.
- The successful candidate will be required to demonstrate excellent communication skills, a comprehensive understanding of effective performance management and budget management.
- We are looking for a highly motivated person who understands the diverse needs of the community and possesses strong organisational and communications skills to represent LBTH at all levels including chairing meetings and events and deputising for the Head of Service as required for all matters concerning rent and service income.
