Forster Park ASD Resource Base Teacher
Our children need outstanding, creative, fair, challenging and motivated professional teachers.
The Role
This is a unique opportunity to join our amazing Resource Base at Forster Park Primary School. Our provision which is an integral part of our mainstream school specialises in children with a diagnosis of ASD and may also have a secondary need of SEMH. Our provision has been open for a year and we currently have 7 children. The provision is due to grow to classes for September 2024, with 14 children in the provision. Each class will have 7 children and 3 members of staff when full. Our children are expected to integrate into the mainstream school and will progress to this as they progress. Some children will access some mainstream lessons almost immediately, whilst others will take much longer in the resource base, to build the skills to enable them to do this. It is our aim that all children in the resource base will be accessing the mainstream school by Year 6 to enable them to be part of a mainstream secondary school, having been equipped with the skills required to support their needs.
Our staff team are dedicated and amazing! This is a rare opportunity to be a part of and those professionals who are dedicated to meeting the needs of children with a diagnosis of ASD. We take great pride in the dedication our staff team have and the progress that the children our resource base have made is astounding.
We are two primary schools within Oakbridge Federation, Rangefield Primary School and Forster Park Primary School. Forster Park hosts our Resource Base and Rangefield Primary hosts our cross federation Nursery. Both schools are maintained and within Lewisham Local Authority. Oakbridge serves a diverse community that embraces varying cultural backgrounds, which supports our children in becoming lifelong learners. Our children are friendly and keen to learn and thrive on challenge; they have good relationships with each other and enjoy the whole learning experience that we offer at both schools.
