Programme Director - Regional Park
Ealing Council is pushing ahead with a new regional park in the borough and is seeking a creative and dynamic Programme Director to lead this far-reaching and truly transformational project. The council’s ambition is for Ealing’s regional park to be as transformative for west London as the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park has been for east London. Alongside providing a space for residents and the wider public to visit and enjoy, the introduction of large and cohesive open space across the borough will help establish a new green lung for London and in so doing will improve our climate resilience, air quality and flood defences. We anticipate the project to create a lasting legacy for future generations, leveraging substantial capital investment into the borough with a range of new facilities to be introduced throughout the park which could include sports pitches, play spaces as well as a new outdoor cultural venue.
We are seeking an exceptional individual who possesses the necessary skills and experience to drive the project from a masterplan stage through all stages up to implementation. The project is still in the early stages of development and so there is the potential for the right candidate to have a substantial influence over the shaping of these plans and to lead the drive to turn the concept into reality.
Our ideal candidate must possess demonstrable leadership abilities, be able to clearly articulate a compelling vision and translate that vision into a deliverable set of proposals, combined with well-honed senior stakeholder relationship management skill. You should possess the commercial acumen and requisite negotiating skills to manage and deliver a viable and sustainable project which will benefit generations to come. The successful candidate will work alongside and lead a talented and cross-council project team within an organisation with an appetite for boldness and innovation.
