About us
In Camden we are committed to working together to make our borough the best place to live, work, study, and visit. Partnership with our communities is central to the way we work, so that everyone can access opportunities, and nobody gets left behind. Here’s where you can help decide a better future for us all.
The role
We are looking for an experienced programme manager who is able to support two high profile programmes in the Council that respond to the design and construction of a new high-speed station at Euston. We are also looking for someone able to help deliver challenging Healthy Streets projects in the surrounding area of the Euston site.
The ideal candidate will have experience of working on large programmes in a partnership context and will have knowledge of business processes, risk and issue management and excellent analytical skills.
A career history of working on transport projects is essential. The ideal candidate will have experience in effective partnership working on large scale, strategic regeneration projects, including complex and large-scale healthy streets projects.
This is a fast paced, high-profile role that requires an individual who is able to build strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure that partners and senior leaders are fully briefed on Camden’s position on key issues.
Getting Euston right is a key priority for the Council due to the unprecedented and significant impacts our community has already experienced. The Council needs to be prepared to respond to the operational challenges of the construction and delivery of a new station(s), associated development and public transport & “Healthy Streets” provision (i.e. bus and cycle, and pedestrian facilities), whilst ensuring our communities can continue to live healthy, happy and safe lives during a period of intense change.
About you
The successful candidate will be able to communicate confidently and empathetically with a wide range of groups including residents, businesses, elected members, senior leaders and other stakeholders.
You will have excellent customer care standards and an understanding of the role of local government in supporting residents and businesses. You will have keen political awareness and will have experience of working with publicly elected representatives or equivalent roles. You will also have experience in organising, managing and coordinating cross-service projects that lead to successful outcomes.
This will be coupled with strong analytical skills, ability to resolve issues at pace, ability to motivate and enable people through collaborative working, good working knowledge of the context at Euston, knowledge of key partnership organisations and the understanding of current public policy issues are all very important requirements of this role.
You will have strong experience of programme managing a suite of regeneration and/or healthy streets projects. You will be a strong, skilled and experienced project and programme manager able to deliver multiple initiatives, often over-lapping with one another, both on time and to budget.
