The Redbridge Youth Service is committed to encouraging, empowering, and challenging young people to achieve their potential through a range of positive activities and enjoyable informal learning opportunities.
The Youth Service comprises of several teams, working with young people in universal settings, as well as providing targeted support to individuals and families. We want to recruit passionate Youth Workers to work at the two Youth Centres in after school / early evening sessions.
Successful candidates need to have experience of working with young people aged 11 – 18 and up to 24 with special education needs and disabilities. We are looking for people with generic youth work skills of engaging with young people and in informal education settings and are enthusiastic about sharing skills and experience in music, media, cooking, sports or creative arts.
Hainault is an established Youth Centre that is open 2 after school sessions and 3 evenings a week. There are opportunities to expand and enhance the current Youth Work offer.
Main role:
- To engage with young people to deliver face to face work at the Youth Centres.
- To create informal learning and education opportunities using music, media, cooking, sports or creative arts.
- To engage with vulnerable young people and support them in their transition to adulthood.
There are 2 posts @ Hainault Youth Centre. Each post is 12 hours per week.
Hours are Tuesday 2.30 to 8.30pm, Wednesday 2.45 to 5.45pm and Thursday 6.45pm to 9.45pm.
