The role:
A permanent opportunity for a Business Support Officer, Civic Office (Grade 7) has arisen in the Mayor’s Office/Civic Office. The Civic Office is part of Constitutional and Member Services, Governance & Assurance Department.

About You:
The Civic Office is a unique team, created to assist the Mayor of Southwark and empower and celebrate residents’ pride in their neighbourhoods and borough.
The successful candidate must be able to:
- Assist the Mayor’s Private Secretary & Civic Officer (PSCO) in offering advice to senior managers in the department and across the council on issues relating to correct procedure and protocol in relation to civic and ceremonial duties.
- Champion civic pride in keeping with Southwark's position as London's most historic borough, and to support others in the council and the community to do likewise.
- Work in partnership with the Mayor’s PSCO and other officers, in the co-ordination of all activity associated with the civic role of the authority, including all civic functions and any special projects of the Mayor's Office.
- Be responsible for the management and maintenance of systems and processes to support the provision of effective and efficient services and continuous service improvement.
