Grade 6- £36,567- £39,951pa. 2 Year Fixed Term Contract (Secondment Opportunities will be considered) 

To help us deliver an exceptional service, we are looking for a Stock Surveyor on a 2 year fixed term contract to join the Housing Property Services Asset Management Team.   

This role reports to the Housing Asset Management Senior Stock Surveyor and has no direct supervisory responsibility however may be requirement to assist in induction and training of peers and new employees.

Undertaking stock condition surveys on Council managed properties; providing detailed, robust information to inform the asset management database; update the stock condition database; provide information as requested.

To carry and manage a case load, to work with individuals supporting and directing clients to access a broad range of housing options and where appropriate making relevant onward referrals and signpost to other services 

 You will liaise with residents to arrange and manage your appointments, updating the stock condition database and providing information as requested.

In addition, you will undertake EPC/RdSap Energy Data Surveys to LBH housing properties and support the zero carbon agenda.

Working with the Senior Surveyor, you will carry out appropriate work validation exercises to support the annual planned works programme of circa £20m, and you will provide advice where appropriate on the decent homes standard.

Other responsibilities in this role include; undertaking S125 surveys to support the RTB process; complete reports to support the acquisition of new properties estimating/valuing works required to ensure new purchases will meet the Decency standards before being let; and supporting the new build programme by undertaking pre-handover inspections and condition surveys of our new build properties. 

About You

You will hold a construction related qualification, or have substantial work based experience in housing/repairs, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. or you are undertaking study/qualification in Building, Housing or management related subject  

Require comprehensive knowledge of the Decent Homes Standard, HHSRS, and other relevant housing legislation/standards, together with a thorough understanding of lifecycle approaches to asset management.

Ideally experienced in the following: undertaking EPCs/energy assessments on properties to assist delivery of carbon reducing programmes of works; undertaking mutual exchange and S125 surveys.

Experienced in using technology to assist in the collation of surveys through software packages or Apps 

You are capable of undertaking site visits and hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle for use at work.
