The role – Rents and Service Charge Manager

As Rents and Service Charge Manager you will lead a team in delivering a high quality, customer centric rents and service charge setting and utilities management service.  It is a great opportunity to take ownership of specific projects which support rent and service charge setting across all tenures and improve the customer experience and value for money.

What you’ll do

You will

 

  • work collaboratively with other managers across the business to ensure all costs are correctly identified and income maximised by ensuring full recovery of all service chargeable expenditure
  • develop, implement and monitor tactical and strategic plans for improving rent and service charge setting, reconciliation and utilities management to improve the customer experience
  • lead your team to support budget holders to accurately prepare annual service charge income budgets and accurately account for expenditure through a business partnering approach.
  • work in partnership with internal departments to ensure rents and service charges are set correctly and fully compliant with legislation for all new developments and re-let properties.

 

Skills and experience we'd like you to have

We’re looking for someone who:

  • has a high degree of knowledge of rent and service charge setting legislation, contractual arrangements and best practice across all tenure type
  • can demonstrate experience of managing a team remotely to ensure performance is at the highest levels.
  • has an accountancy background
  • is ideally from within the housing sector though this is not essential
