The Role:
Enfield offers an unrivalled breadth of experience, working with a stimulating and varied built and natural environment, ranging from dense urban centres to rural villages, farmland and historic country estates. Based in the Strategic Planning and Design Service, we work collaboratively with teams delivering development management, regeneration, housing and public realm projects to help deliver outcomes ranging from: the delivery of entire new communities at Meridian Water; managing transformational change in urban town centres like Edmonton Green and Enfield Town; helping to maximise the strategic benefits of the industrial Lea Valley; conserving and enhancing leafy Edwardian suburbs; to influencing large public realm improvement and rewilding projects.
This role is a great opportunity to join an ambitious team of urban designers, architects, and conservation specialists delivering innovative approaches to the built environment alongside transformational growth. Through our ambitious emerging Local Plan we are putting high quality design, local distinctiveness and community benefits at the heart of placemaking.
We are looking for an exceptional candidate to make a positive contribution to the team at a key moment in a number of large-scale projects. You will provide proactive design advice as part of Planning Performance Agreements, pre-applications and planning applications and work with colleagues across the Planning Service, Enfield’s Design Review Panel, developers, agents and communities to help deliver positive outcomes for Enfield. You will also be involved in shaping Enfield’s emerging Local Plan, growth strategies, corporate projects and housing delivery.
If you are an experienced design professional, committed to best practice and driving excellence and can contribute positively to the work and culture of a growing and progressive team, then we want to hear from you.
