Unit Support Officer
The Role:
As a result of promotion to a new role, the opportunity has arisen for a bright, ambitious and hardworking individual to joint our busy service as Unit Support Officer. The role involves providing a comprehensive administration support and facilitation service mainly to the Food Safety Team but will also work closely with other teams in the Regulatory Services division as required including the provision of excellent customer service for the respective teams and business units.
The duties will ensure the smooth running of all back office functions and support the day to day running of services within the business unit by mainly receiving and processing, service requests/complaints, food business registrations, various applications and notifications of infectious disease occurrences, recording sensitive data and minutes of meetings, managing database and dealing with queries from members of the public.

About You:
We are looking for an enthusiastic, efficient, organised and experienced administrator and unit support officer to join our busy team of enforcement officers responsible for regulating food businesses activities in the borough. You will be working with our key partners and stakeholders including colleagues in Public Health and UK Health Security Agency (UKSA) to ensure, the health, safety and wellbeing of our community and to prevent and control occurrences of infectious disease.
You will possess a minimum of 5 subjects at GCSE grades A to C or 4 to 9 including Mathematics and English. Ideally you would have administrative support experience, a good understanding and experience of using basic IT software, possess good Word and Excel skills and dealing with high quality office management and records systems sufficient for the discharge of your duties. You will have good communication skills with a proactive and innovative approach to resolving issues and able to work on your own initiative having regard to established guidelines and service objectives.
