An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Analyst to join our Commercial Hub.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced analyst with a commercial background in public sector procurement who is seeking to add value to a dynamic corporate procurement team.
With the development of a new Commercial Strategy and the implementation of new e-procurement tools, you will be part of a vibrant team working to drive improvements in our commercial activities through the introduction of digital and efficient procurement practices.
The role requires the ability to understand the detail while also appreciating the bigger picture, offering commercial intelligence and comprehendible analysis to stakeholders and to senior team members. This role deals directly with the Senior Management Team and so requires an adaptable communicator & influencer with strong analytical skills.
The role will require you to support all procurement related systems, being the lead user on the council’s e-procurement software along with supporting other operational team activities.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Producing performance dashboards and reports
- Experience of identifying, collecting and migrating data to/from a range of internal and external systems to transform, manipulate and link different data sets as required
- Sourcing new datasets for Local Authorities from a variety of sources (e.g. open source; Local Authority data returns Dun and Bradstreet and information extracted from ICT systems
- Strong analytical ability, including analysis of data sets.
- Ability to produce and illustrate data in a format suitable for Senior Management Reports
- Excellent numeracy skills
- Experience of e-procurement and finance systems
As Commercial Analyst, you will be joining a dynamic environment responsible for managing the council’s major categories of expenditure, creating opportunities to improve, leverage and drive the implementation of best practice procurement across our annual revenue spend of more than £340M.
Essentially a remote working post, occasional attendance at the Council Offices in Ealing, W5, will be expected.
This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process
