Teaching Assistant (SEND)
Hours: 30 hpw/38 weeks per year + HOLS (8.30am - 3.30pm)
Salary: Grade 1/2, points 2-5 £16,502 - £17,323 pro rata. (FTE £23,628 - £24,804 p.a.)
Start Date: ASAP
We are looking to appoint a Teaching Assistant who has experience working with SEND children who have a range of special educational needs. The role is predominantly working as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant but some group work may be required.
The role involves supporting a child with speech, language and communication needs. Any experience using visual timetables and PECs would be an advantage.
Whilst you will be expected to work under the direction of the class teacher you will also have the ability to use your own initiative to organise tasks and activities; creating simple resources to support the pupil’s work as appropriate. You will work closely with the class teacher and the School’s SENCO as well as working in partnership with external contacts to support learning and development.
