Admissions & Attendance Officer required as soon as possible

Scale 6 Point 18 – 20 £25,788 – £26,655 (Actual pro-rata salary)

35 hours per week Term-Time Only

 Hours 7.30am – 3.00pm

 

We are seeking to appoint an experienced and highly efficient Admissions and Attendance Officer who has exceptional organisational and communication skills which are essential for this post.

Your duties will include acting as the key person for pupil admissions in accordance with the local authority and school admissions policy, updating the admissions register, maintaining accurate student attendance and lateness records on SIMS, following up on attendance and student lateness, assess strategies to promote regular and punctual attendance for students, liaise with families and outside agencies relating to attendance i.e. meetings in school, manage procedures relating to pupil transfers, and managing and maintaining pupil records on SIMS.

Other responsibilities include conducting tours of the school for prospective parent visits to the school; - engaging parents with the school and the school ethos, ensuring admission packs are kept up to date and distributed as necessary, preparing information and pupil records for forwarding on to appropriate schools.

 

The successful applicant will have:

 

  • Experience of the admissions process in a primary school
  • Experience of working with key staff to reduce levels of unauthorised pupil absence
  • Excellent verbal and written and communication skills
  • Experience of providing face to face customer service
  • Proficient in SIMS and Microsoft Office including typing of 60 wpm (minimum)
