Job introduction

We are recruiting a Senior Leasehold Liaison Officer to join the Leasehold Team in Housing

For an informal discussion, please contact Simon Plotkin - Leasehold Services Manager on 01273 293425

About the role

This role is to join the Leasehold Team at an exciting time for the service.

The team undertakes and manages a wide range of leasehold matters for the Council's 2900 leaseholders and other essential services required including the Right to Buy and dispute resolution.

The most important relationship in leasehold management is with the leaseholder themselves on an individual basis. The council is committed to improving its relationship with leaseholders, especially in the area of major works and planned maintenance projects.

Leaseholders often feel disempowered and unable to be involved with issues regarding their lease. Do you think you have the necessary skills and abilities to ensure that a clear, honest and transparent service is offered to leaseholder? To ensure that their issues and concerns are reflected and acted upon positively and effectively within the council? If so then this could be the role for you.

You will be responsible for maximising the council’s engagement with leaseholders at all points through the lifetime of major works and planned maintenance projects. You will be responsible for giving clear and accurate advice to leaseholders, members, fellow officers and team colleagues on a wide range of issues arising out of leasehold management and major maintenance contracts.

Importantly you will ensure leaseholder’s involvement in the council’s building management responsibilities are effectively embedded within the council, to help ensure our vibrant communities remain a place where people want to live.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills able to explain complex information to and work with a wide range of stakeholders. They will be able to work both on their own initiative as well as in the team environment, able to prioritise their own workload as well as working under pressure to tight deadlines.

Good IT skills are essential as well as a working knowledge of customer services techniques.
