Community Independent Living Officer
The Community Independent Living Officer is responsible for undertaking housing related support duties in the community across the Borough. Also, to provide a pivotal role to the Rents Team to build a stable and financially inclusive community so that residents engage and access mainstream services to live independently in their neighbourhood
Key aspects of the role include:
- Prevent homelessness by providing intensive housing related support to vulnerable Council tenants. By completing support plans, household budget plans, carrying out risk assessments and taking a customer centred approach that identifies strengths and supports the tenants well being
- Carrying out mobile working in the community to provide practical support and advice to residents and liaise with other relevant services to ensure they offer appropriate services to the customer including; community care, access to health, social wellbeing, repairs, welfare benefit advice, promoting tenancy sustainment and income maximisation.
Through case work presenting vulnerable council residents with options that prevent risk of harm, neglect and hazard by raising alert to the appropriate agency to safeguard the tenant and their household members from danger..
