As a Training & Engagement Officer, you will have a key role in identifying, creating, and delivering or commissioning learning and development opportunities including H&S training for staff in City Clean & City Parks to improve the services, we deliver to residents and visitors to the City.

About the role

This is a time of real change for City Environmental Management – a modernisation programme is underway, our renewed focus on learning and development will play a key role in making a real and sustainable difference to our organisation.

You will be responsible for providing expert advice on learning and development to all City Environmental Management teams. You should have demonstrable experience of designing and implementing learning and development strategies, action plans and staff communication and engagement activities.

You will have the skills and ability to work with a range of individual employees to understand their learning and training needs, identify learning styles and overcome any barriers to learning. You will be responsible for promoting diversity and creating opportunities for underrepresented groups.

You will use your communication and interpersonal skills to build effective working relationships with colleagues within City Environmental Management, across the wider organisation and with external stakeholders.

You will be accountable for monitoring, evaluating, and reviewing learning and development interventions to demonstrate the business and performance benefits. 

You will use your knowledge of relevant Health and Safety legislation and best practice in learning and development to ensure action is targeted where it is most needed.   

You will need a Level 3 Foundation Certificate in Learning and Development Practice (CLDP) or equivalent Level 3 NVQ or relevant experience in the field of learning and development.

This role will be mainly based in the office, even though some members of the team are mainly working from home. We can offer some flexible working arrangements to suit your circumstances on an ongoing basis, as well as safe office accommodation if needed.

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
