Project Engineer - Neighbourhoods and Environment
The Highway Development team is seeking a Project Engineer.
Waltham Forest Is a dedicated walking and cycling borough, with a massive 12.4% of London’s overall protected cycle tracks now installed on our streets. This growth is matched by the number of new development projects. These new sites need to be integrated with our sustainable transport and highway network.
You will give highways advice and prepare written highways responses on planning and development matters, at all stages of the planning process. You will be involved in identifying any temporary or permanent highways works required. You will also be involved in the review and technical approval of drawings submitted by developers for S278, and S38 agreement. You will check compliance of CDM information submitted and prepare estimates of highway works for inclusion in legal agreements. You will be checking draft legal agreements to ensure that Highways interests are captured. You will supervise the construction of developer related highway works on site, checking for quality and compliance with the necessary standards. You will have knowledge of the highway processes required to carry out works on the public highway. You will be able to work on multiple projects with different timescales.
You will have some involvement in the review of Construction Logistics Plans although previous experience is not essential. Knowledge or experience of planning policy or the planning process if desirable. You would ideally have some experience of working in Highway Design, Traffic Management or Highway Construction, and be a CAD user.
