Chapel Lane is a supporting living Home for adults with mild to moderate learning and physical disabilities. We are situation close to Hillingdon Hospital in a quiet residential area, we offer the tenants a 24/7 service 365 days a year. We currently have 5 permanent tenants that staff support to help them maximise their quality of life by building and maintaining their independence.
What does a Supported Housing worker do?
Working directly with tenants, you will be helping them to maintain and improve their quality of life by ensuring independent living skills are developed and maintained. You will support tenants with personal daily living skills pertaining to personal hygiene, medication support and community access. You will be required to provide a high-quality service in line with the essential standards of care and in return will be well supported from other skilled team members.
In this role you will be predominately lone working, and expected to remain on site for a 24hour period which includes sleeping on the premises.
The typical shifts patterns for this role are over a 24hr period. For example, you will begin at 2;30pm and your shift will finish at 10:30pm, then you will have an 8hr gap where you are required to sleep at the property (this will be paid separate to your wages and will not be counted as your working hours) then you will return on shift at 7am and then finish at 3pm.
This is a non-negotiable part of the role, please do not apply if you are unable to commit to the shifts detailed above.
About you
It will be essential that you have relevant experience of working with people with learning and /or physical disabilities. You need the ability to manage, organise, and prioritise workloads effectively.
This is for individual passionate about working with vulnerable people and dedicated to supporting them to reach their goals and maximise their independence.
Key skills/ experience to evidence within your application include (but are not limited to):
- Previous experience working with individuals with physical and learning disabilities
- Ability to communicate and work efficiently with in a team
- IT Skills across MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook)
