About the role

The Team and our aims at CareLink

CareLink Plus is Brighton & Hove City Council`s community alarm and telecare service. operating 24 hours, seven days a week, providing a community alarm service supporting more than 5000 vulnerable city residents, that includes 3000 residents living independently in their homes. We also co-ordinate a range of out-of-hours functions throughout the city.

Our aim is to support people in maintaining their independence as well as reduce or delay the need for care and support, including hospital admission and residential care admission.

We provide a preventative service which also supports hospital discharge and possibly prevent re-admission.

In many cases our service alone can lead to no further Adult Social Care involvement for many years.   It also plays a key role in supporting unpaid carers in their caring role.

The role

In this busy multi-tasking role, you will support the frontline teams by providing an organised and resourced environment.  You will be the first contact for telephone enquiries demonstrating an excellent standard of customer service and interpersonal skills. You will assess the suitability of referrals and be able to explain the uses and functions of the equipment available. You will manage the appointments system, processing referrals through to conclusion to maximise uptake of the service. You will work collaboratively ensuring a responsive service is delivered whilst maintaining several administrative systems.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.
