An exciting and challenging opportunity has arisen to take a pivotal role in the leadership and management of the Appeals and Complaints Team within the Revenues and Benefits Service at London Borough of Waltham Forest.

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for a highly motivated and innovative team leader to join our busy management team, where you will be expected to manage the performance and development of the Appeals and Complaints team within the Revenues and Benefits Service ensuring that the service is efficient and effective.

Day to day management of own team of 7-9 Appeals and Complaints Officers.

Experience of Housing Benefits, Council Tax Support and Council Tax Tribunal appeals, and Judicial Reviews is essential.

About you

  • Experienced manager with proven leadership and management skills and meeting tight deadlines
  • Conscientious attitude and attention to detail
  • Have excellent knowledge of Housing Benefits, Council Tax Support and Council Tax Tribunal appeals and Judicial Reviews
  • Have excellent organisation and communication skills and proven experience of thriving under pressure
  • A drive to learn and continually improve
  • Ability to remain calm and focused under pressure
  • Experience of dealing with customers in an appeals environment
  • Passionate about doing a good job and delivering results
