About the role

An exciting opportunity for a full time Team Leader role has arisen at Merrimans Respite Care Service. Merrimans provides person centred care for up to 9 service-users each night, people who use the service have learning disabilities and/or autism, some have additional physical and sensory needs. Merrimans provides valuable respite care for approximately 65 Hillingdon families and carers, with the objective being to provide a temporary home with a high standard of care. Care plans are created with the people involved to ensure that the care provided meets the persons needs whilst valuing and encourging their individual skills and abilities.




About you

As a Team Leader at Merrimans, your shift pattern will often consist of late shifts, followed by sleep in and early shifts the next day. You will be responsible for supervising and inspiring a team of dedicated Care Workers alongside the Registered Manager.

You will lead shifts as the duty Team Leader, facilitate, and participate in various meetings, staff training, supervision, appraisals, and development of activities. You will be expected to administer medication, carry out assessments and will maintain and respond to Health and Safety requirements.

All staff at Merrimans will always respect the dignity and preferences of our service-users as well as take part in providing an environment that's warm, welcoming, and comfortable.

You will need to have completed a QCF Level 3 Diploma in Health & Social Care (or equivalent) with 3 years previous experience in providing care at a similar level. You will be familiar and experienced in the safe administration of medication and be committed to providing person centred care to our service-users.
