Senior Communications & Campaigns Officer – Redbridge Life
Redbridge is an ambitious, diverse and exciting east-London borough. What we do is driven by changing our relationship with local people to support our vision. As a result, we've developed innovative ways to build our communities and transform our Council.
We're one of the fastest growing parts of the country and the third most diverse London borough. Our communities are attracted by a mixture of excellent schools, relatively affordable housing, high-quality open space and rapid transport connections into the heart of the City.
These are exciting times at Redbridge Council.
In 2022, we published our ambitious blueprint for the future of this east London borough called ‘The Redbridge Plan’.
It set out a compelling vision to tackle poverty and the soaring costs of living whilst building a cleaner, greener, fairer, safer, and healthier borough.
Further, we’ve committed ourselves to ending child poverty in the borough by 2040 whilst reducing deprivation in some of our poorest wards by the same date.
We are absolutely determined to build a better Redbridge for everyone.
Communications is playing an integral role in the delivery of the borough’s evolving story of transformation and improvement. Through our campaigns, media, digital, production, publications, and internal communications, we are getting our key messages out to wide-ranging audiences with bundles of creativity across our channels.
We are now seeking an outstanding candidate to join us as Senior Communications and Campaigns Officer.
We are now seeking an outstanding candidate to join us as Senior Communications and Campaigns Officer (Redbridge Life).
Redbridge Life is published 4 times a year and delivered door to door to all residents in the borough. It provides residents with information about services and events in Redbridge.
You will be the editor of this publication taking responsibility for its production from start to finish.
This includes working with other communicators and services to create news lists, finding and securing advertising, commissioning articles, writing, editing and sub-editing copy, sourcing images from stock libraries and photographers directly, liaising with designers on the book itself, and getting relevant sign-offs along the way.
You will also have an eclectic and varied role working across the communications service to help us deliver our ‘Safer Redbridge’, ‘Cleaner Redbridge’ and ‘Healthy Redbridge’ campaigns.
You will have experience working in a communications, marketing, or public affairs environment within local government, and understand the way in which a council works.
You’ll also be adept at building strong working relationships with staff and leaders, be super-organised and able to work to conflicting deadlines.
Interview date = 25th April 2023
