Clerk to Local Governance Committee
Salary: £160 per meeting
Hours: Part-time, 6 meetings a year
Required: May 2023

To help us with this, we are looking to appoint a Clerk to the Local Governance Committee
You must be readily available for 6 LGB meetings per year, of which 2 will in person. This requires time in the lead up to and post meetings, with key tasks including:
Before Meeting:
- Preparing an agenda pack and arranging for the pack to be uploaded on to the Governor Portal
- Booking a room at the venue for in-person meetings or organising a Zoom link to be circulated via email
- Liaising with key members of staff to ensure all papers are collated on time and sent one week before the meeting
During Meeting:
- Minute taking at the meetings
- Ensuring the meeting keeps to time
- Noting any points of governance for forwarding to the Governance Professional after the meeting
After Meeting:
- Typing up of minutes for checking within 5 working days
- Circulate minutes to LGB and all attendees
- Ensure all actions are carried forward
- Follow up non- attendance and update and monitor registers
You will also be expected to attend termly clerk training and other training as required. Experience of clerking is not essential as training will be provided, however admin/minute taking experience and touch typing is desired.
The successful candidate will:
- Be readily available for 6 LGB meetings per year
- Be reliable and flexible in order to complete the pre and post meeting work required
- Have effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Administration skills and experience
- Excellent organisational skills
