About Us:

THE EXTRAORDINARY STORY OF HAYLEA’S UNBEATABLE SPIRIT

Westminster City Council is a world of extraordinary stories. Where people use their optimism and talent to achieve more than anyone thought possible.

Nobody personifies this more than Haylea Navarro. Born with cerebral palsy and paralysed down one side since birth, Haylea has been gleefully proving people wrong ever since. Now a project officer, she brings faster broadband connectivity to Westminster businesses, boosting the economy for all. Throw in her gong at the 2020 London Apprenticeship Awards, and it’s clear for all to see just what can happen when you never give in.

The Role:

As a Project Officer, you can make your own powerful contribution delivering a range of programmes that fundamentally help to improve London’s air quality. This is a significant problem, which Cross River Partnership (CRP) has taken on to make our city a better place to live, work and visit. Because without action, London’s residents and businesses will suffer. And that’s where you come in.

As a council, we’re fully on board with CRP’s vision to improve London for everyone. You’ll focus on maximising service quality while ensuring the continuity of systems, processes and any recurring projects and contracts. Regularly collaborating with organisations across London, you’ll provide advice and guidance to colleagues and managers, lead dedicated teams and prioritise workloads to ensure all managed projects reach their objectives.

A vital part of this role is making the most of the beneficial links between CRP’s ongoing programmes including Clean Air Logistics for London and Smarter Greener Logistics. By collating data, writing reports and regularly presenting performance updates and outcomes, you’ll ensure the CRP is always working closely with its Business Improvement District.

Joining a small team, you’ll work to help deliver CRP’s goals, supporting freight-led action to improve air quality and encourage wider organisations to proactively participate. From independent businesses to large chains to hospitals, your work will provide support for a range of projects the CRP deliver surrounding transport, place making and general wellbeing. Additionally, you’ll contribute to marketing material and social media campaigns, as well as the development of funding applications.

About You:

With relevant academic qualifications and a history of working with partnerships in the public, private and voluntary sectors, you’ll be comfortable delivering complex projects. Your broad knowledge and understanding of sustainable development pairs perfectly with your ability to communicate innovative ideas with the wider team and influence a range of stakeholders.

Diligent, professional and empathetic, your collaborative mindset supports your excellent people skills. You develop trust and respect quickly, and have the capacity to breakdown, prioritise and delegate your workload.

With demonstrable experience using web-based data collection tools, you’ll be able to conduct in-depth research, analyse data sets, and develop strategies and plans of work to successfully deliver your objectives.
