About the role

Reporting to the Strategic Commissioner the post holder will  be a key officer in the VAWG Unit and will coordinate, develop and implement plans and strategies aimed at improving the coordianted community response to domestic abuse sexual violence and VAWG.

The post holder will also be responsible for the day to day operational running of the Multi Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC) and line manage the MARAC Coordinator.

We are seeking to recruit an exceptional person to join a new team coordinating quality VAWG services for the City.  The post holder will also be responsible fro working with the wider MARAC Team to develop and support the development of BHCC MARAC in line with national best practice to safeguard  people at high risk of serious harm. 

The successful candidate will have knowledge of the local and national priorities regarding this agenda. They will have excellent analytical skills, be an excellent communicator and have experience of partnership working, engaging with  statutory partners and third sector specialist organisations and other providers as well as those with lived experience to help inform the development of local policies and strategies.

Additional information

Your starting salary will be pro rata if the above position is less than 37 hours or term-time only.

Work Permits: We may be able to obtain a Work Permit for this post but this is subject to meeting the requirements of the UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) Points-based Immigration System. Please see Gov.uk for more information on the Skilled Worker Visa.

There is the option for the suitable candidate to choose to work mostly from home. Attendance at the office with reasonable notice would be required on occasion.  This notice would be subject to local team and service working arrangements. Your contractual location will be the designated council office for your team and travel to and from your contractual location would be at your own expense.
