About Southwark:

Southwark is a large, ambitious and progressive council with a ‘can do’ attitude and enviable reputation. As a Council, we are successful, passionate and forward-thinking. We are committed to our ‘Fairer Futures for All’ promise which ensures that our residents and businesses are central to everything we do. If you want to make a difference at a local level, apply to Southwark Council today.

The Role:

Earlier this year we launched Southwark 2030 – our whole-borough conversation. Together with local people, community groups, businesses and public services, we’re sharing our ambitions and hopes for the future so we can work together to get there.

And we’re not waiting to take action. The council is responding to what we’re hearing from residents now. We’ve embedded transforming priorities – shaped by what we’re hearing – in our Council Delivery Plan. We’re focused on nurturing thriving and sustainable neighbourhoods, closing the gap in life chances and embedding people power in all we do.

To get us there we’re undertaking a broad programme of change – Southwark Council 2030 – to ensure how we work, who we work with, and where we work match our ambition.

About You:

The Strategy and Change Team – part of the newly formed Assistant Chief Executive for Strategy and Communities department – are a crucial part of the engine room driving this change. And we’re expanding our team to meet the challenge. If you’re from a project and programme management, change or service design background you could be just what we need.

The incredible spirit of local people and their desire to come together to find solutions and help others, is what makes our place great. If you can imagine yourself working with them – alongside an outstanding team of colleagues – to shape Southwark Council for the future we’d love to hear from you.

If you think you might be just what we need, but you’re not sure whether your skills, qualifications or experience are a perfect fit them please speak to us. We don’t want to miss out on what you have to offer.

We are an organisation who is passionate about our people and understands that richness of diversity is a requirement to provide the best possible services to our communities. We particularly welcome applications from members of the black, Asian and ethnic minority communities to increase representation at senior management level in the Council.
