The Major Projects Engineer role is key to enabling us to achieve this goal, working in a team of professionals delivering major projects for the borough.
Some of the projects include Westfield Avenue Highways Improvements, Royal Docks Corridor, Leyton Road and East Village Connections. Highway improvements on Westfield Avenue and surrounding roads aiming to improve road layout within the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Many of these schemes are multimillion pounds in value and Newham will be delivering these projects over the coming years.
The post-holder will need to support Senior Project Managers to help the delivery of the projects. The post holder should be suitably experienced, hold a relevant degree in the highways design/ civil engineering field. Typically, this would suit a graduate with 4+ years’ experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity to gain experience working on projects from preliminary design through to implementation of the scheme on site, site work and liaison with stakeholders, external contractors / consultants on a day-to-day basis. Working as part of the design team and the delivery team and will give the post holder all-round experience of a delivery of a highways project in the urban realm.
