We are recruiting for a Team Manager post in the Eva Armsby Family Centre in Assessment and Intervention Service, in the Supporting Families Division.
The role
The centre provides a range of child-focused services to children and their families across Tower Hamlets. The service is part of the Children’s Social Care, MASH and Assessment & Intervention Service.
The fundamental objective of the service is to promote the well-being of children and families. The service works collaboratively with children, young people, families, carers and professionals to provide a safe, welcoming environment for family assessment, intervention and contact services.
- This role will need to promote practice and a working culture focused on the promotion of service user and carer wellbeing, promoting personalised outcomes and positive experience.
- Promote positive working relationships in and across teams and with partners in statutory, voluntary and third sector organisations
- You will manage and support workers who work with our most vulnerable children, young people and families. Your expertise will support families, help keep children safe and enable them both to thrive.
- Provide leadership and management of the Team ensuring there is a clear focus on purpose and outcomes
- Achieve positive outcomes for children within the social care system, ensuring that children are safegaurded through effective decision making and practice
About you
- Have a good knowledge and understanding of child protection practices, Working Together to safeguard Children and their families, PAN London guidance.
- Have experience of managing a team in a frontline service
- Provide direct line management and supervision to practitioners including ASYEs who work with children and young people under statutory obligations
- Manage and lead staff to achieve high performance and effective operational delivery, including developing and improving staff capability
- Be responsible for and report upon the teams budgetary position, ensuring affective use of resources
- Establish and maintain positive relationships with key partner agencies in order to develop and support children and families who are in need
- Support children to achieve permanency when children become looked after

Requirements
- Working knowledge of the legislative framework within which Social Care operates, inclusive of regulation, national guidance and procedures specific to this post.
- Thorough understanding of quality assurance an ability to integrate this understanding into practice
- CQSW, DipSW or other SWE recognised social work qualification.
- Social work experience and experience of supervising/mentoring others
- A commitment to working transparently; in partnership with children, young people, families, and partner agencies
