TMS / UPS and TLR2b - plus 1 SEN Allowance
Starting – 1 September 2023
Hill Park School is an OFSTED rated Outstanding special school in Portslade, having retained this rating in June 2022.
The Hive is a new provision being opened by Hill Park School on a newly refurbished site at Lynchet Close, Hollingdean, Brighton, in September 2023.
The Hive is for 30 autistic students between Y7 and Y11 who have high anxiety that prevents them accessing mainstream secondary schools or facilities co-located at mainstream secondary schools.
Many will have been home educated or accessing tutoring packages due to the barriers they face attending school.
They will be able to access an age related curriculum and achieve GCSE’s and other Secondary accreditations.
About the role
We are going to be offering them a warm, friendly and welcoming provision with a supportive and caring staff, who work closely as a team.
The Hive would be a great place for you to work if you:
- are reflective, flexible and resilient and enjoy working on your practice
- are interested in individualised learning with a holistic perspective that encompasses physical, sensory and behaviour development as well as curriculum learning
- have experience of teaching a Core Subject/s (English / Maths/ Science / Computing) to students working at GCSE level
- have SEND and/or specialist school experience
- experience of middle or senior leadership
We cannot offer visits to The Hive as it is not yet built, but please contact the school office to arrange an informal visit to Hill Park with the appointed Head of Site Linda Williams to see the existing Secondary site based in Portslade and to discuss plans for the new site.
The post is for a full time class teaching post for KS4 students in one or more Core Subjects at GCSE Level. There will also be a KS4 leader role, for which you will be released 1 day per week.
We take safeguarding and child protection seriously and all posts at Hill Park School are subject to a satisfactory Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Certificate.
