An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Commercial Hub.
As Commercial Manager, you will be joining a dynamic environment responsible for managing the council’s major categories of expenditure, creating opportunities to improve, leverage and drive the implementation of best practice procurement across our annual revenue spend of more than £320M.
Although a generic role, meaning participation in tenders across the whole range of services Ealing buys, your main role will lie with major and minor works and working on projects that include housebuilding, housing stock maintenance, corporate building repairs, electrical and mechanical services, community based services associated with environmental health and open spaces.
In addition to being professionally skilful and commercially astute, you will also need to demonstrate a successful record of partnership working in multi-disciplinary teams, including consultation and negotiation.
have commercial expertise in complex, large scale and high value public procurement
have detailed understanding of public procurement regulations
have experience of tendering contracts across multiple categories of spend
be MCIPS qualified or have other relevant professional qualifications or alternative experience
champion best procurement practice across the Council
be a confident communicator with proven relationship management skills and customer focus.

Essentially a remote working post, occasional attendance at the Council Offices in Ealing, W5, will be expected.
This role is deemed customer facing and as such you must have a command of spoken English which is sufficient to enable you to effectively perform the role. This requirement relates to Part 7 of the Immigration Act 2016.
This role is subject to Ealing Council’s enhanced vetting process.
