Job Coach
Phoenix College is a small and vibrant FE Specialist College with total number of 40 students situated in East London with commutable transport links. We are looking for a Job Coach to work with the Careers Team, supporting Young Adults with Learning disabilities with Autism to gain full and immersive work experience opportunities within our host business with the goal of securing fulltime employment. The post holder will be involved in day to day support for interns both within their work experience and during curriculum time. They will also play a key role in liaising with departments and managers to find appropriate opportunities for the young adults and learn the skills needed in various placements to then coach them to the intern. This role is a mixture of classroom learning which requires working closely with TA and off-site work placement visits.
The Job Coach will ensure that they continually identify and build relationships with departments within the host business and prospective employers. The role will also include offering advice about employment for young adults and families with learning disabilities and ensuring that all activities are matched appropriately to their individual needs.
The post holder will provide support for the interns with their Employability Qualification as well as assist the Tutor in the delivery of the qualification. It is also required that the Job Coach maintains regular contact with parents and families of interns to keep them up to date with goings on within the programme.
Our students are aged between 18 and 25. Students make very good progress with access to a broad, balanced and enriched curriculum. We are accredited British Association with Supported Employment (BASE) and NATSPEC College.
