Head of Emergency Management
We require an enthusiastic and highly motivated person to take on the leadership of the expanding Emergency Management Service working with key internal and external stakeholders, to continue to improve the resilience for the London Borough of Ealing.
The post will have lead responsibility for the councils Emergency Management, Emergency Response Teams, Business Continuity Programme and will be a member of internal Senior Level Forums including the Directorate Senior Leadership Team.
You will lead the Emergency Response Team’s training and exercising programme and have excellent project management skills and the ability to work and lead on your own initiative.
You will need to be able to demonstrate excellent interpersonal and presentation (both oral and written) skills, be committed to working as part of a team and be able to work to tight deadlines.
You should be customer focused and be able to work with staff at all levels and in a wide range of organisations, including the emergency services, voluntary sector and businesses.
You will also be required to cover on call duties and respond to emergencies.
You will require:
- A formal qualification: educated to degree level or with a professional qualification in emergency planning / disaster management or have significant vocational training in an emergency management discipline
- Working knowledge of the Civil Contingencies Act 2004
- Recent experience of working within the fields of Emergency Planning and Business Continuity
- A proven track record of programme or project delivery to high standards
