Voids and Lettings Performance Manager

This is a new role based within the Tenancy Management service but with responsibilities for monitoring and supporting the end-to-end voids process across all the services involved. It’s a fantastic opportunity for the right person to make an impact on the service we deliver.

By getting our properties ready for letting more efficiently we help those residents desperately waiting for a new home as well as protect the council’s income. This is a pivotal role that will bring a mixture of project and performance management to how we manage the process of letting our homes.

The key duties of this role include:

• Leading the weekly voids meeting with stakeholders from across housing departments to ensure clear accountability for every empty property and its current place within the voids process.
• Leading on improvement projects to address blockers identified within the voids process
• Providing regular reporting to both operational and senior managers
• Ensuring accurate recording of every void and its status on the councils Housing Management system (NEC) to enable clear reporting and eliminate the risk of fraud
• Monitoring and reporting on void rent loss with a target to reduce void rent loss year on year.

The right candidate for us needs to be able to demonstrate:

• Experience in social housing or a related field directly involved with the management of void/empty properties.
• Experience of working in a cross-departmental customer service environment, ideally within local government or housing sectors.
• Experience of improving performance and/or processes.
• Experience of project management
• A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills
• The ability to bring together people from across an organisation to deliver a shared objective
