About the role
We are seeking a full time Admin and Reception Officer to provide a high quality and effective reception and administrative support to the Early Years Play and Development (EYPaD) Centre which is part of Children’s Centre teams. It is available for a fixed term basis till up to 19th May 2023 with a possibility of extension.
It will involve working as part of a busy team in the Early Year Play and Development (EYPAD) Centre. Duties will include answering telephone calls, welcoming visitors, taking bookings, handing cash, dealing with enquiries, handing information and data, carrying out risk assessments and assisting with general administration of the Centre. It will include dealing with parents/carers, children, colleagues and other professionals for which confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
About you
We are looking for as an enthusiastic practitioner and good communicator, who will be committed to working in partnership with children and families, with skills and experience in providing admin and reception duties, good customer service, handing cash, and dealing with confidential information and data.
You will be competent in all aspects of IT, highly organised and have the ability to prioritise and manage a busy and varied workload.
Key requirements of this position include;
- Providing a front-line service covering reception duties, being the first point of contact for the service users, visitors and other members of staff.
- Dealing with a wide range of queries and complaints from the public and from other staff in a polite and helpful manner, in person and by telephone ensuring sensitivity at all times.
- Taking session and room bookings along with handling cash and card payments.
- Reporting security, health & safety problems to the manager. This includes carrying out of health and safety risk assessments of building before the opening hours of building to the public and at the end of the day.
- Working as part of a team to ensure that the reception is covered during office hours and essential priority tasks are fulfilled.
- Being punctual so that the centre is ready to open to the public by the centre’s opening time.
- Operating computerised systems using standard software applications including Microsoft word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams etc.
