Alliston House, Walthamstow - Care home for older people and people with physical and sensory disabilities, cognitive impairment and people living with dementia.

Working Pattern:
Do you want to work as part of a team in a residential care home for older residents with a range of complex needs including dementia? Our residential care homes need an experienced cooks to meet our residents’ nutritional needs.

Staff are required to work 36hours a week between the hours of 8.30am to 5.00pm and this includes weekends and bank holiday working as required.

You will be required to prepare and cook meals for our residents on daily basis. Choice of meals are offered, including cultural and dietary meals. You will be responsible for ordering food supplies, taking stock and ensuring their rotation. You will have overall responsibility for ensuring safe running of the kitchen and meeting all Statutory organisational requirements (CQC & Environmental Health).

  • experience of working in a residential kitchen setting is desirable, but not essential
  • need to hold relevant cooking qualifications 
  • ability to maintain accurate records
  • understanding of the dietary needs for older people
  • knowledge of health & safety and cooking processes
  • attend training courses relevant to your role
