We require experienced and enthusiastic outdoor environmental educators to join our team on a casual basis to provide extra capacity to schools and families during our busy periods. You will lead and engage groups from Early Years to adults mainly outdoors in Epping Forest on both day and residential visits.

What we are looking for:

As an Environmental Education Officer, you will deliver high quality outdoor environmental educational activities for groups from early years to post 16 as well as family and adult events, everything from bear hunts to A’ level ecology to corporate team building. You will have a thorough understanding of the climate emergency enabling you to lead sessions for schools and adult groups.  

You will have a knowledge and understanding of the natural world and be willing to continually learn.

The role is physically demanding and requires someone with a blend of skills and expertise, including field studies, leading workshops, bush craft, practical conservation and animal care. Induction and training will be provided. Sessions may take place at weekends and out of hours, but at The Hive every day is different and enjoyable.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Essential:

Degree in ecology, environmental science, geography or related subject

Experience of delivering high quality outdoor environmental education activities

Experience of working with children and young people

Clean DBS

Desirable:

Forest School Leader and/or bushcraft training

First aid qualification
