Advanced Practitioner Grade 9 £45,834 to £49,827 plus Market Supplement of £4k pa

Adopt London consists of four Regional Adoption Agencies (RAA) covering the London area, and each area is led by a host local authority. Adopt London East started in October 2019 and is a shared adoption service working on behalf of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, and Tower Hamlets councils, hosted by the London borough of Havering.

The successful applicant will be employed by the London Borough of Havering (host local authority) within Adopt London East, as part of adoption services working on behalf of Barking and Dagenham, Havering, Newham, and Tower Hamlets councils.

About the Role

You will manage a caseload of complex and challenging cases and assist other team members in the management of such cases.  You will strive in maintaining and maintaining and developing high professional standards for the service and support your team members to achieve this.

Have specialist knowledge of an area of child care practice that can be used across the service.  To represent the service in developing key service provision or local strategic initiatives.  You will be able to Improve the quality of work done by Social Workers, including effective case management, purposeful evidence based interventions, analytical assessments and high quality written work.

About You

You will be able to demonstrate Substantial experience as a Social Worker (e.g. minimum 3 years), including child protection work. You will have first-hand knowledge of preparing detailed reports for child protection conferences, Courts, Panels, senior managers and Members.

You will have experience of working with children and families including complex assessments and statutory work. This will include being able to complete direct work with children and adults from vulnerable groups

You will have worked within in a  multi-disciplinary interagency basis and ability to negotiate on behalf of service users.

Qualifications

•             CQSW or CSS or DipSW.

•             Evidence of post qualification study.

•             Recent post qualification training in working with children & families and child protection               e.g. PQ Child Care Award; AMP; Achieving Best Evidence.

•             Practice teaching award or a willingness to undertake this training.

•             Current HCPC registration.
