About Us:

In Kensington and Chelsea, we put local people and businesses at the heart of decision-making. Working in partnership with our community to deliver responsive, effective and efficient services, we are committed to working creatively and innovatively to better support our population. As such, we have joined forces with Westminster City Council and Hammersmith & Fulham Council to deliver the highest levels of support to residents of all ages, seeing to it that we are capable of meeting their needs, whatever they may be.

Our tri-borough Fostering and Permanence team are at the heart of this ambition. Join them, and you’ll deal with a rich and varied caseload while conducting the thorough, insightful assessments that the Courts and Fostering Panels rely on for informed decision making. It’s also a chance to develop your skills and broaden your knowledge in a progressive department, whilst helping to share long-term care arrangements that will give children and young people the best start in life.

The Role:

Every case you deal with will have different nuances, needs and challenges. The Connected Person’s Team focuses on the assessment and support of family and friends’ carers and on making recommendations alongside the frontline social workers about whether a prospective carer will be able to provide high quality care to a Child Looked After. We believe autonomy is important, as well as the freedom to deploy and develop your expertise to maximum benefit; as a Seasonal Social Worker you’ll have the latitude to manage your own workload and decide whether or not you’ll take on a case. Your focus will be where it’s needed most: supporting in the assessment and care planning process for those in our care and supporting carers to provide high quality placements.

As our caseload and referrals continue to increase, so too does the opportunity to learn and think creatively. We are a close-knit, highly engaged team that believes there is always a better way to do things. Having the courage to do so means you’ll help shape the future of social work and the lives of the next generation.
