The Role:

We’re currently have two opportunities for Apprentices to join our department.

One opportunity is with the Temporary Accommodation and Resettlement Service, which is made up of four teams. Two of these source temporary accommodation and manage contracts, one more focuses on placing homeless households in their accommodation, and another manages the rent account. The work is challenging and reactive but extremely rewarding.

The second opportunity is with the Housing Solutions team, which aims to help people stay in their accommodation and prevent them from becoming homeless. Working with rough sleeper and mental health teams to support some of the most vulnerable members of our society, this is an area where solutions can lead to genuinely positive change.

About You:

To succeed in any of these roles, you’ll have a pass in English and Maths GCSE at Level 1 or above, and a lower level Apprenticeship and some relevant experience. A confident written and verbal communicator, with good knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of software, you should have the ability to work well with a wide range of different people, and enjoy being part of a team. These are roles where you’ll be able to make a real difference to peoples’ lives, so in addition to being proactive and ready to come up with new ideas, we’ll also expect you to work with minimal supervision in a busy, dynamic environment.

This vacancy will be open to all, with no geographical restrictions. 
However, applicants who are either: 

  • A resident in the Borough
  • An RBKC care leaver
  • An RBKC school leaver who left school in the past 5 years 

and who meet the minimum requirements of the role as outlined in the Job Description, will be guaranteed an interview.
