Energy Programme Project Manager
About Us:
Help transform key public buildings across a high-profile London borough
At the Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea, we are focused on putting our residents and local businesses at the heart of every decision. From the policy decisions that we're making through to the services that we’re delivering, it’s vital that we put the needs of our community first. We want to give everyone a great quality of life, with access to a comfortable home, sustainable and desirable employment options, and the chance to live and work in a healthy and safe environment. And our Asset Management service plays a vital part in achieving these goals.
The Role:
Joining our supportive, collaborative team, you’ll coordinate vital energy efficiency construction projects as part of our zero-carbon initiative. It’s a new role that will help deliver much-needed retrofitting for our buildings across the borough, including schools, a library and town halls. It’s all about delivering a first-class project management service from end to end, including initiation, final delivery and closure.
As well as ensuring we meet key project milestones, you’ll manage project teams, consultants, contractors and stakeholders. You’ll also oversee high-quality architectural, engineering and surveying advice for our projects, and make sure that all governance and procurement processes adhere to our regulations.
There’s also a real sense of variety in the role as you’ll work across a range of retrofitting activities, including installations and fabric works.
Please refer to the Job Description for more information.
About You:
You’ll already have significant experience in construction project management and have a strong interest and passion for the environment. You’ll be able to manage customer and supplier relationships, carry out effective procurement and deal with property solutions. A good knowledge of relevant legislation, professional standards and project methodologies is essential.
Communication skills are crucial as you’ll be dealing with a lot of people on a regular basis. On top of this, you’ll need skills in leadership, organisation, reporting and finance, as well as strong commercial awareness.
You’ll also need a recognised project management qualification such as APM, MSP or PRINCE2.
