Job introduction

Deputy Headteacher - (Head of Hollingdean Site)

L11 to L15 dependent on experience

Start date: 17th April 2023

Hill Park is a maintained specialist school for 198 pupils aged 4 - 16 years, across two sites. Our pupils have profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning disabilities (SLD) and moderate learning disabilities (MLD) with some pupils having an additional diagnosis of Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC).

About the role

We are expanding to a third site in Hollingdean, due to open to KS3 and KS4 students in September 2023. This site will meet the needs of a different cohort of students to our existing pupils, but will still be a part of Hill Park’s values and community. These students will not have a learning disability but will have an EHCP and a diagnosis of autism.

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Executive Head Teacher and the Deputy Heads leading the Primary and Secondary sites, in growing and strengthening the Senior Leadership Team, ensuring we continue to evolve our outstanding practice to a wider range of need.

We will offer you full support in developing your skills and knowledge in your new role. We welcome applications from existing special school senior leaders.

We will not be shortlisting any candidate who does not either visit or telephone the Head Teacher.

We take safeguarding seriously and all posts are subject to satisfactory DBS and other checks.

Closing date: 10am, Friday 21st October

Interview date: Thursday 3rd November
